  1. Hi,
This is off-topic, but may I request that you consider allowing users to store skins in internal memory, not SD Card? There’s nothing more annoying than widgets loading with their default skin because by the time homescreen loads, SD Card is being still scanned and therefore it is not mounted and SD skins do not load. This is worse if user uses dark skins and default skin is light and then fonts appear white on white background – unreadable. Takes to enter the the preferences of rthe widget and reload its skin for the skin to apply properly.

    1. In fact, there is already a cache in the internal memory…. but a bug make the widget asking a skin cache regeneration ask phone startup. For Pure calendar, it will be solved in the next release. Is this bug present in other widgets too ?

  2. Another off-topic but since Koxx3 is so quick to respond, I couldn’t resist. I love developers who are fast to respond!

I am using Pure Messenger a lot, but there’s something in it’s design that is constantly bugging me. Each item is made of three types of text content (images aside), as follows:

For a Facebook feed item, it will be:

    *News Item
    John Doe
    I just arrived in Berlin!

My petpeeves with this design are, as follows:

    * The prominent, bold text item that captures attention is the least important type of string, . If it is Facebook, it’d be 99% a News Item, if it is mail message it’d be always Mail Message, etc. This is usually either unimportant, repetitiv, unrelated to the content or it can be simulated with various icons (i.e. variations of Facebook, Twitter, Mail icon on the right, with variations as follow – Facebook Icon with a tiny element that shows its News Item, or Facebook Message, Twitter icon with tiny element that shows its a Tweet, Mention or Direct Message, Mail icon with tiny element that shows its a normal Message or a Reply to a Conversation, etc.) It doesn’t need to be so prominent and so space wasting – a line of text. On a 4×4 Widget, usually 5-8 items are shown, thus wastes 5-8 lines of text – another item!

    * The element that needs to be prominently bolded is the Author. This is what is important to the user – John Doe is my friend so I want to read what’s latest in John Doe’s social life.

    * Many feed items from social networks contain images. It would be nice if there is an option (off by default) that Pure Messenger will download the image (very data intensive!) and create a tiny thumbnail within the summary, i.e. right-aligned in the right end of the news item, or under the summary. Great for MMS also!

    * Many email messages contain attachments. It would be great if the summary item in the widget showed the name of the attachment, and the Gmail or POP3/IMAP icon had version with a tiny element for an attachment.

      >>> as you may have seen, it is changing. For example, for twitter, it was ‘tweet’ only before, and now, it is also ‘DM’, ‘retweet’ …
the same thing will appear with FB. Wall post, inbox, notifications …
And I do not agree on the fact that is the not important.
If you really want to change it, suggest it to the google moderator part, and we’ll let people vote.
It doesn’t take ‘so much space’. bold text is just larger, not higher. it doesn’t impact widget element height.

      >>> it is clearly not possible in the list view. Too much memory for too small images… and it would slow down a lot the scrolling.
      >>> for normal view, why not. I was thinking about it.

      >>> yes, I agree with this, and it is already in my TODO list. I just don’t know where to show it. I don’t want to clutter the widget, and each new ‘option’ load more the CPU…

      1. Ah, well, guilty in speaking up with my emotions first, especially back when I couldn’t buy the app because I didn’t root yet and PayPal didn’t work for rebuying. I will rework my review there given that I see now you’re much more cooperative than I have initially thought.

    1. I was thinking about it and the Google moderator result is :
      – Pro: 11 votes
      – Cons: 12 votes !!!

A lot of people doesn’t seems to care about Google Buzz.

And more than that : each new provider cost a lot of time for me (but why not), a bigger APK file, more memory usage, more CPU on refresh and will clutter the configuration panel.

My goal is not to do a widget that handle everything.
I want a widget that handle the best providers as good as possible.

    2. In fact, I am thinking to a plugin system … but it will require a looooooot of energy to me.

      1. This would be excellent thing if it materializes one day. This could easily blow away competition in the face of FriendStream (and what’ve heard LauncherPro is developing inhouse).

      2. Users are always my priority…
But as I told you, I work with a limited time :/

  3. Pour en revenir au sujet ^^ j’ai fait une màj Pure Messenger sur Android Market aujourd’hui (sauf erreur) , avec succès, or j’ai toujours l’erreur en voulant réactiver Twitter :

“Communication with the service provider failed : invalid % sequence …”
