[Pure calendar & Pure Grid calendar] Ice cream sandwich

Both applications now supports Ice cream sandwich (Android 4.0).

I hope I’ll get my Galaxy Nexus soon to make deeper tests😉

  1. Greate app! Thanks!

Unfortunatelly, I use a Samsung Galaxy Ace and my only problem is memory management: how about reducing the size of the application?

Maybe spliting it in two modules:
    – the widget (smaller since it would only show the events and tasks) would be on the internal memory;
    – the configuration module could be transfered to the SD.

    Is this possible?

    1. There is no such plan since :
      – the devices memory is increasing every month
      – you can’t split an application in 2 pieces like this (config panel is mandatory)
      – the configuration part is really really small
      – my app run without any trouble on an HTC G1

The biggest split would be the task module, but it would finally be much bigger for users using events and tasks… it seems to be your case and the case of most of my users.

      1. Thanks for you prompt response!

I’ve seen some other apps that I THOUGHT were split (like Synker, the widgets are configured through the app in the application drawer) and wondered if you could do the same.

Since it is not possible, what about reducing its size? Some other apps are much smaller. After all, new phones have more memory but some users have phones with only 150MB of internal memory…🙂

What and When, for example, occupies less than 300Kb but doesn’t look as professional as Pure Calendar (i.e. too much pictures and two lines for each event).

What could be optimized on Pure Calendar to reduce its size?

  2. The default launcher of ICS supports scrollable widgets. Pure Calendar Widget is already working (by accident?) but when I activate scrolling in Pure Grid Calendar widget I end up with an empty widget.

      1. You may already know this: When scrollable mode is enabled for stock ICS launcher, scrolling works, but the right-most day of the week cannot be interacted with. That is, if you tap any other day of the week, you get the day view popup. If you tap the final (right-most) day of the week, nothing happens.

      2. Hi,
can you send me a screenshot and highlight the inactive part please ?
did you configure it to display the 7 days ? (not less)
        ciao,
        Francois

      1. I uninstalled both the Go Launcher and ADW. With the stock launcher, scrolling itself is a bit better, but loading the calendar data the widget constantly loads data. The screen looks like this:

  3. I made an ICS skin and when I put it in the backgrounds folder, it doesn’t show in the list.
How do we add custom skins?

I’d like to change the buttons(refresh, settings, etc) also. How would I go about doing that as well.

    Thanks
