[Pure News widget] yes … a new widget

You have been a lot to request Pure news widget in the suggestion module.

Well, I started to develop it !

There still a lotttt of thing to do, but I think I should be able to publish first release in 1 or 2 weeks.

It will be interfaced with Google Reader web service.
Connected with your Google account, it find all your subscriptions very quickly.

As usual, it will be skinnable, very configurable, and will offer sharing features.

Later, it will offer internal viewer with background cache and mobile page formatting.

A first screenshot of the first alpha (not yet available).

  1. You’re facing quite a competition from the already feature-packed-to-the-rafters (and free) Scrollable News Widget.

  2. I think that is a great app. I tryed al the others news widget and for every app i miss something. If this widget can precache text/pictures with build in viewer, and collect different sources it would be great. I will give this widget a try and i am sure that this will awesome like the others🙂

    1. Currently, no because NewsRob doesn’t offer any API. It will connect directly to google reader to get your feeds.

  3. Good to see you’re working on a news widget.

Hope you come up with some clever way of jumping between categories and individual feeds. 2 sets of arrows would cut it for me, but not sure how nice it would look. 1 set in bottom corner for individual feeds, and one set in titlebar for category swap maybe? I’m sure there’s cleverer ways of doing this tho. Curious to see how your latest baby turns out.🙂
